The data platforms from which Exponam.Connect sources data are changing rapidly and system and network configurations are always in flux. Sometimes this may cause errors or unexpected results through Exponam.Connect.
To support you in resolving any issues as quickly as possible, Exponam.Connect Pro contains a session logging function.
Session logging should be turned on if requested by Exponam support, or if you wish to troubleshoot system connectivity issues on your own.
By default, session logging is OFF.
- To enable session logging, select Preferences > Advanced and click "Log this Session."
- Attempt to access the data which is generating an error or not returning results. When complete, close Excel.
- Open File Explorer and navigate to your home directory (usually in C:/Users/<your name>). Open the “.exponamExcelAddIn” directory. You will see a file "SessionLog.txt"
- If requested by Exponam support, email the SessionLog file as an attachment as requested.
When Exponam.Connect is restarted, the Session logging function will be reset to OFF and any existing log files will be deleted.
Note that the SessionLog file contains NO file data. It contains system commands, requests made to the data provider service and responses/failures from the service. Some table metadata (column headers) may be included.
